Respect the fact your earnings can help you leave a legacy for your family. Money is not evil. It is a necessary tool.
You woke today, therefore, you have the ability to start over. But you need to get your mind involved in living a healthy lifestyle. Follow logic. The homeless people you pass everyday are asking you for money. You hand over money to exist in the universe. Credit is money, deferred until you have cash in hand.
First, realize your money will not work the same way it works for someone else. The consensus is, “if I can do it, you can too.” That does not make sense. If you are making minimum wage, you cannot do the same things as someone making $150,000. If you put $1,000 on your credit card to take a course with a guru, and don’t have any cash to pay the bill in full, you cannot do what the “guru” – who has $300,000 from the students who signed up – is doing.
Follow your gut. You got into debt one swipe at a time, it will take a while to get out. Start with a simple budget. We have a good one on our website (below) under Budget Support. It takes into account your income, expenses, investments (if any), future social security, and flow into your Net Worth. Once you complete the budget, reconcile each month against your bank statement. This is how you verify the progress you are making. Reach out if you need assistance. This is how we live.
