Road Not Taken: Mortgage

The biggest part of our budget is homeownership.

Some people like to have a place that is theirs. It does not have to be a house; some prefer an apartment. But it is ownership.

Because the process of becoming a homeowner is a long relationship, the lender has created new tools (some will be explored in more detail later) to shorten the risk involved in waiting too long to get the money they need to invest in new projects.

The homeowner can reverse these tools to have them work in the same way the lender intended; to reduce any default in the event the borrower falls short at anytime.

After passing the probation period (sometimes up to two years) when you cannot incur any penalty for attempting to pay extra, it’s time to pay off the mortgage.
